We support people with disabilities who are unable to manage their own finances to achieve positive changes in their lives. This involves working closely with their families, social care and health workers and local communities.
This is what people say about us:
From Eleanor’s Mum:
I have been very happy with the services of the PDS and it provides me with peace of mind that Eleanor’s financial affairs are being well managed, the cost of which is reasonable . The Fitzroy people now seem to have an understanding as to how it all works and are very happy with the service too.
The understanding of the PDS of the benefits system is far superior to that of most people and I am confidant that Eleanor has access to those benefits she is entitled in order she has a comfortable life.
From Megan’s Mum:
Although I still retain a keen interest in how Meg’s money is coming and going, it has been an immeasurable relief to know that someone, with far more wisdom and knowledge than I, now has the job of ensuring her financial wellbeing!
The benefit of the PDS assuming financial responsibility for a client ensures that all rules, regulations and laws are adhered to whilst, at the same time, giving vulnerable and mentally incapacitated clients the very best of advice concerning their finances.
Ian Brighton, General Manager (Operations), Ipswich Building Society
I am very happy with the service and very much enjoy working with everyone at the PDS in relation to Suffolk HOLD.
From Steven Jaki, Support Manager, Affinity Trust
5 years congratulations on a sterling job.

By Milly Gaskin, formerly the Locality Manager, Leading Lives
Leading Lives provides a wide range of high quality support to people with learning disabilities including those with physical, multiple complex needs and autism, older people, young people in transition and family carers across Suffolk. We support and enable vulnerable people to lead full and active lives.
The PDS are very active with the people they support, they attend reviews, help with holiday planning and future aspirations. This level of involvement enables people to take control of their lives.
I have had involvement with the PDS as they supported 5 of the people I was working with at the time in a home in Woodbridge. The tenants all had PDS managed accounts. For the five people I have supported to move home I could not have been happier with the PDS – it’s really important that all people are offered this service.
Caroline talks about her sister Heather and how we have helped her family in this video:
We receive National Housing Award.
On Thursday 11th September in London the PDS was awarded Best Partnership in the National Housing Awards with Suffolk County Council, Ipswich Building Society, Wellington Construction and Saffron Housing Trust for the best partnership working to deliver an affordable home ownership scheme.
The Judges comment:
A partnership of four diverse organisations in which each worked to their strengths to deliver outputs of real value to people with severe learning difficulties.
